This Teacher Appreciation Week, we invite you to step into history and explore the remarkable life of John Wayne—a man whose story is interwoven with the fabric of 20th-century America. From May 4–10, 2025 teachers can enjoy FREE admission to John Wayne: An American Experience, an immersive exhibit that offers a glimpse into the life of one of the most iconic figures in American history.

In honor of Mother’s Day, all moms will receive FREE admission to the John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit on Sunday, May 11, 2025. As an extra treat, they will also receive 15% off purchases at the John Wayne Stock & Supply retail store (adjacent to the exhibit), and have a chance to sample our delicious John Wayne Gold Handle Coffee. We are open 7 days per week, from 9am to 6pm. Cheers to moms!

Start the evening off with trip back in time as you tour the life of The Duke at the John Wayne: An American Experience Exhibit. After you tour the museum, walk on over to Los Vaqueros, Meet the Wayne Family; and enjoy live entertainment by Moses Rangel, Western musician and singer-songwriter; and a special art exhibit featuring Buck Taylor, renowned Western actor and watercolor artist.
Los Vaqueros has thoughtfully created a Duke inspired menu to pair with the John Wayne Family Estates Wine collection. Dessert will be served with freshly brewed Gold Handle Coffee.

On Saturday May 24, start your day with Daytime Museum Access and Activations from 9 AM – 2 PM. Then, come back in the evening for an Exclusive Museum Event and VIP Experience from 4 PM – 7 PM.
Wrap up the weekend on Monday May 26 with a relaxed and intimate Coffee with the Waynes from 9 AM – 11:30 AM, featuring personal stories, coffee, and pastries.

Join us on November 8, 2025 for the annual 5K John Wayne Grit Series run in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards! The course starts at the John Wayne: An American Experience exhibit and weaves through the cobblestone streets of the Stockyards to Trinity Trail where you’ll take in views of the downtown Fort Worth Skyline. This run benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation, and every step advances the fight against cancer. Bring the whole family… you won’t want to miss it!

Special Exhibition:
Cowboys and Indians by Andy Warhol
Step into the vibrant world of Pop Art with Andy Warhol’s iconic Cowboys and Indians portfolio, a captivating set of ten screenprints created in 1986, just a year before the artist’s passing. This collection, presented on Lenox Museum Board, showcases Warhol’s signature style through bold colors and cultural commentary, exploring themes of the American West. Each piece measures 36 by 36 inches (914 by 914 mm) and is part of a limited edition of 250, signed and numbered in pencil by Warhol, with printing by Rupert Jasen Smith and publishing by Gaultney, Klineman Art, Inc. The portfolio features a diverse array of subjects, including Mother and Child, Northwest Coast Mask, Kachina Dolls, Annie Oakley, General Custer, Indian Head Nickel, Geronimo, Plains Indian Shield, Teddy Roosevelt, and the striking John Wayne.
